We want you to have options.

Whether you know exactly what you want to study or don't yet have a clue, UDM has an academic program for you. We offer a comprehensive slate of majors and degrees, including highly respected programs in architecture, nursing, psychology and the sciences, as well as some—such as digital media studies—that are unique to UDM. Our business and engineering programs take full advantage of UDM's deep connections to local financial and manufacturing firms.

Our pre-med, pre-dent, and pre-law programs are first rate. In addition, our exceptional 5-year and 7-year accelerated programs accelerate your progress, allowing you to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in a growing field, such as Physician Assistant and Cyber Security programs. No matter what you choose to study, UDM's firm grounding in the liberal arts will ensure you have the communication and critical thinking skills you need to thrive in any environment.

Campus Life

Home

UDM offers a great educational experience with quality academic programs, supportive and accessible faculty, and hands-on learning opportunities through internships and cooperative education placements. But another critical component of your college experience is campus life.

Our students compete on 19 Division 1 athletic teams, voice the opinion of the student body through Student Senate, contribute to student life through fraternities and sororities, and even circulate campus news through WUDM Radio and the Varsity News (our student newspaper). With more than 65 clubs and organizations, there is no shortage of activities to get involved with on campus.

You can also enjoy performances by live bands, comedians and poets at the Grounds Coffeehaus, and attend a variety of films, speakers and special events on campus.

While living on campus is not a requirement, we highly recommend that all students consider it. Residence life offers convenience but also a chance to be surrounded by those who share a common goal of academic and personal growth. UDM’s residence halls put classrooms, faculty, support services, and recreation at your doorstep.
And don’t forget you’ll be in the City of Detroit… it’s part of our name!

Residence Life

Home

UDM’s six residence halls house hundreds of students in a comfortable and safe environment — a home away from home. From traditional to suite-style living, we have an option for everyone.

To provide a successful transition to college, first-year freshmen who choose to live on campus will reside in Shiple Hall.  This is our seven-story residence hall which offers special activities and services designed to support first year students.  Each floor offers community restrooms as well as social and study lounges.  Students have access to volleyball courts, a game room, St. Martyrs Chapel, and laundry facilities, among other amenities.

Our dining options include balanced menu options in a variety of different delivery methods.  For the on-the-go snack or a sit-down meal, no matter your schedule, we have many nutritional options for your dining needs.
